Awesome, awesome day. Started with kickboxing with Julie and Beth, who seems to be a natural. Later picked up Julie and went to Beth’s house for socializing and dinner (both delightful) before heading off to the Redford Theater in Detroit. […]
Went with the gang to the Detroit Urban Craft Fair at the Masonic Temple. None of us had been to the Masonic before, and they were pretty strict on where you could and could not go. The fair was awesome […]
Took Alex to Detroit to see the Civic Jazz Ensembles (student groups) at the DSO, then the Duke Ellington Orchestra concert at Orchestra Hall. We met up with friends for the ensembles concert, and it was set up with tables […]
I wouldn’t have expected clothes shopping with boys to be so much fun. We ran around a mall and these two each got super sharp outfits, and had to model them by the Christmas tree outside. Snazzy!
Better than perfect = DONE! I don’t even know when I started this little table runner, but would put it out every year with raw edges. Poor little guys! So finally, finally, I added a back and some machine quilting. […]
After reading about the Mayo Clinic doctor who recommended walking slowly while working, I asked my husband to modify my treadmill. (Check out this article in the New York Times for more info on this movement. Ha!) It won’t fold […]

The moon was still in the sky when little mister went off to school. It wasn’t yet dawn, so everything was still bathed in moonlight. Buses were running, cars were driving, and the moon still shone bright.
homemade soup made with homemade stock cooked on a woodburning stove. It does not any cozier than this. Which is good, because it got up to 5degrees today. Brrr.
This is a decal on the mirror in my sons bathroom, reflecting the handpainted version on the back wall.
Taken with the iPhone, and I love how the top branch is out of focus so you see the middle branch best.
In July my son and I took an overnight trip to check out Lexington and Port Sanilac, places in Michigan we’d never been. Each of those towns has a jetty outside the marina. Even though the days were gray we […]
